چکیده

Brillouin microscopy is an emerging label-free imaging technique used to assess local viscoelastic properties. Quantum-enhanced stimulated scattering demonstrated using low power continuous-wave lasers at 795 nm. A signal-to-noise ratio enhancement of 3.4 dB reported by two-mode intensity-difference squeezed light generated with the four-wave mixing process in atomic rubidium vapor. The optical and excitation wavelengths water transparency window have potential provide a powerful bio-imaging for probing mechanical properties biological samples prone phototoxicity thermal effects. performance affordable through use quantum may pave way significantly improved sensitivity that cannot be achieved classically. proposed method utilizing enhanced can easily adapted both spectroscopic applications biology.

Stimulated Brillouin Scattering Microscopic Imaging

Two-dimensional stimulated Brillouin scattering microscopy is demonstrated for the first time using low power continuous-wave lasers tunable around 780 nm. Spontaneous Brillouin spectroscopy has much potential for probing viscoelastic properties remotely and non-invasively on a microscopic scale. Nonlinear Brillouin scattering spectroscopy and microscopy may provide a way to tremendously accele...

Analysis of enhanced stimulated Brillouin scattering in silicon slot waveguides.

Stimulated Brillouin scattering has attracted renewed interest with the promise of highly tailorable integration into the silicon photonics platform. However, significant Brillouin amplification in silicon waveguides has yet to be shown. In an effort to engineer a structure with large photon-phonon coupling, we analyzed both forward and backward Brillouin scattering in high-index-contrast silic...

Near-forward Stimulated Brillouin Scattering

LLE Review, Volume 72 177 In stimulated Brillouin scattering1 (SBS) an incident (pump) light wave is scattered by the electron-density fluctuations associated with an ion-acoustic (sound) wave. This process generates a frequency-upshifted (anti-Stokes) light wave and a frequency-downshifted (Stokes) light wave. For most scattering angles the anti-Stokes wave is driven nonresonantly and can be n...
